FAQ's:
 
Q.   What do I need to bring for my CBT?
A.    You will need to bring both parts of your Driving Licence (photo ID and paper counterpart) and you must make sure your licence has Motorcycle Entitlement on it, as without this you cannot take any motorcycle/scooter training.
 
Q.  How many lessons will it take to get to test standard?
A.  An assesment must be carried out to assess the standard of each individual, in order that they recieve the correct amount of training needed to reach test standard.
 
Q.  If I pass my test on a 125cc will that mean that I can only ride a 125cc Motorcycle for 2 years?
A.  No you can ride any cc motorcycle you want as long as it is restricted to 33bhp
 
Q.  What bike is best for me?
A.  Everyone is different it depends on what you want to use your motorbike for.
 

T&C's:

  • As per Distance Selling Regulations you the customer have a seven working-day cooling-off period, in which you have the right to cancel any services ordered and paid for by  internet, email and for payments made by cheque. 
  • All fees shall be paid for in advance of any motorcycle training.
  • Payments by cheque should be made out to Scotmac Motorcycle Training. 
  • Scotmac reserves the right to rearrange or re-book at the earliest time, any motorcycle training cancelled due to weather or road conditions
  • Scotmac reserves the right to rearrange or re-book at the earliest time, any motorcycle training that has been cancelled in the event of a mechanical breakdown or other cause, no refund will be given.
  • Students must bring their driving licence for ant motorcycle training booked (both parts, meaning photographic licence and paper counterpart or old style paper licence and a valid UK Passport).  Failure to produce their licence may result in training being cancelled and rebooked at a later date convenient to Scotmac, under no circumstances will a refund be given.
  • If the student fails to give sufficient notice cancelling any training  (at least 48 hours prior to training beginning), in order that Scotmac can substitute another person for motorcycle training on that day, then that student will be liable for the price of that training.
  • It is a condition that the student should notify and advise the bookings clerk of any disability or recognised medical condition that may require the use of an adapted motorised vehicle used for the purposes of motorcycle training.  The student would be advised and directed towards a Disability Motorcycle Action Group that could supply relevant information in the adaptation of motorcycles for hire or purchase for motorcycle training.
  • It is a condition that any student participating in motorcycle training:

a.  is duly licensed to ride a motorcycle on the public highway in the uk (category A or D [old style paper licence] for motorcycle or category P for mopeds).

b.  uses a motorcycle, which if not provided by Scotmac, is road worthy and of sound mechanical order. Relevant documentation must be provided as proof of fit for purpose. Scotmac reserves the right to cancel training if they consider the machine to be unfit for purpose.  An alternative motorcycle or scooter may be provided,for which there will be a £30 charge.

c.  has arranged valid insurance cover and MOT if applicable (valid Insurance and MOT certificate must be produced when attending any or all motorcycle training)

d.  wears suitable protective clothing, in particular a safety helmet that complies with the current UK legal requirements.  Appropriate motorcycle gloves must be worn for safety.

  • Scotmac reserves the right to terminate or bring to an end any motorcycle training if the instructor(s) deems that or comes to the decision that for reasons of safety or any other cause it would be unwise to continue on that day, an alternative training day would be arranged by mutual consent between both parties.  No refund will be given.
  • Students must be fit to attend motorcycle training.  Any person who is deemed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be refused training on that day and may be refused access to any or further motorcycle training with Scotmac.  We reserve the right to call for police assistance in relation to this matter.  Fees paid in respect to motorcycle training will not be refunded.
  • Any student who intentionally causes damage to motorcycles, equipment or any property owned or under the control of Scotmac or its employee(s) will be held liable for the repair of and in certain cases the replacement of damaged items.  We reserve the right to call for police assistance in relation to this matter.  Under no circumstances would a refund be considered.
  • Scotmac Motorcycle Training reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions at any time and without notice.
